Announcing the first World (Audiobook) Night collaboration

The APA is very proud to announce an exciting partnership with World Book Night. On April 23rd, 25,000 volunteers will donate half a million books within their communities. For the first year, thanks to the efforts of Anthony Goff (Hachette Audio) and support from APA publisher members and Audiobooks.com, each WBN volunteer distributing the print books will be given free WBN audiobooks. This is a great way to expose new audiences to audio!

World Book Night offers a curated collection of books to distribute (http://www.us.worldbooknight.org/books/2014) in communities where few adults are reading. Twenty of the 2014 titles are available as audiobooks. An APA-branded landing page will be set up, where each volunteer may select the gift of three free WBN audiobooks. This will encourage 25,000 book-loving volunteers to listen to the best of the best in audio performances, and expand the audiobook audience! APA member publishers including Audio Evolution, Blackstone Audio, Brilliance Audio, Hachette Audio, Harper Audio, Penguin Random House Audio, Recorded Books, along with Ian Small of Audiobooks.com, have contributed to the success of the effort, creating a landmark event for our industry.

Thanks to Audiobooks.com, World Book Night, and all the APA publisher members for making this partnership possible.
